Nursing Course Admission Notice for Nursing Students. Nursing Profession is one of the best great professions of the world. Only very few people can perform this great job perfectly as here you have to take care a sick or wound people with high attention. The demand of manpower in Nursing is in high demand through all over the world. In USA there are a lot Colleges to teach Nursing for the Nursing Students such as College of Nurses of Ontario, University of Maryland School of Nursing etc. But in our country it is very few. There are only few govt. Nursing Institutes which can’t afford to meet the demand. It’s privatization in Nursing is too much essential in Bangladesh. It will decrease the number trained professional nursing shortage in the field of Nursing. As a result it will help the whole Bangladesh. Recently some Private Nursing Colleges in Bangladesh has started their activities. Begum Rokeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College situated in Pathantula, Sylhet is one oh those colleges. Recently this college has published an admission circular for different Nursing Courses. So let’s discuss on that.

Here I will not discuss on history of nursing. But I will discuss a little bit on what is a nurse and what is nursing ? Actually nursing is a natural nature of every person. Nursing means to take care. But in the modern era when someone take care of someone in demand of money is called Nursing. without money you can not tell it as Nursing Profession. The main and only duties of a nurse is to keep an eye to a patient and providing every medical instruments which a doctor recommend fot that patient. Hope you understood.

There are different types of nurses  or several types of nurses. Such as Pediatric Nurse, Neonatal Nurse, Navy Nurse, Army Nurse, Labor and Delivery nurse, Psychiatric Nurse, Nicu Nurse, Military Nurse, Maternity Nurse, Nurse on call etc.

There are Three Nursing Courses Offered by Begum Rokeya Khatun Chowdhury Nursing College. These are:

1. Basic B.S.C Nursing Course (Duration 04 Years)
2. Post Basic B.S.C Nursing Course (Duration 02 Years)
3. Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery Course (Duration 03 Years)

Collecting Application Form:

You have to collect the application form form the college’s office by paying non refundable 600 Taka within 8.00 A.M to 2.00 P.M (Everyday). Then by fulfilling the application form submit it within November 30, 2015

Eligibility to apply:

The educational qualification to apply for three different courses are as belows:

Basic B.S.C Nursing Course:

• S.S.C + H.S.C (Science with Biology)=Total GPA must be at least 6.00 (Without Fourth Subject)
• S.S.C and H.S.C or equivalent exam’s marks must not be less than GPA-2.50. Otherwise application will be cancelled.
• If you have passed S.S.C or equivalent exam in 2011, 2012 0r 2013 and H.S.C or equivalent exam in 2013, 2014 0r 2015 regularly then you are eligible to apply for this Nursing Course.
• Applicant must be unmarried and have good health and age must not exceed 22 as on January 01, 2016.
• You must have to submit Unmarried Certificate along with your application certified by your local UP Chairman or Municipal Commissioner.

Post Basic B.S.C Nursing Course:

• Registered Nurse-You must have to pass Bangladesh Nursing Council’s registered Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent exam such as Diploma in Orthopedic Nursing, Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing.
• You must have the Registration from Bangladesh Nursing Council. Registration must be updated.

Diploma in  Nursing Science and Midwifery Course:

• Without Fourth Subject’s Mark, GPA must not less than 2.25 in S.S.C or equivalent exam
• Without Fourth Subject’s Mark, GPA must not less than 2.50 in H.S.C or equivalent exam
• If you have passed S.S.C or equivalent exam in 2011, 2012 0r 2013 and H.S.C or equivalent exam in 2013, 2014 0r 2015 regularly from any board then you are eligible to apply for this Nursing Course.
• Applicant must be unmarried and have good health and age must not exceed 22 as on January 01, 2016.
• You must have to submit Unmarried Certificate along with your application certified by your local UP Chairman or Municipal Commissioner.

Scholarship for the Poor but Meritorious Students:

If you are a poor but but meritorious student and want to continue your study in above mentioned Nursing courses with full free studentship then you have to apply in different form. Your admission result will also be published in different list. You just need to submit your guardian’s yearly income certificate, certified by your local Mayor or UP Chairman describing your economic condition in a 150 Taka’s Non-Judicial Stamp. You can apply for full free studentship only for Basic B.S.C Nursing and Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery Course.

N.B. Before apply just think about why should you become a nurse or what is the salary for nurses or how much does a registered nurse make ? I think it would be better to study or complete this type of course as it’s present or upcoming demand is really very high.
